Shooting Star Entertainments was created by Kate Maunder in 2007 to produce touring pantomimes for schools. We formed a team of professional actors with similar interests, most of whom are still involved with the company.
We have a strong team ethic in which all performers, whether new or ‘old hands’, all have an input to the final production. Our hugely talented professional actors enjoy being able to help shape every performance to make the most of their talents for the enjoyment of our audiences.
Over the last 12 years we have gone from strength to strength and now offer our touring pantomimes for schools, clubs, community centres and businesses across England, alongside a wide range of thematic children’s shows. Each year we entertain thousands of children in hundreds of venues and we are delighted that over 90% of our customers re-book from year to year.
Kate Maunder – Owner & Director
Kate’s love of theatre and performing began in Primary school with a show about Firework Safety. This led to a close involvement with the local Am-Dram company which continued for many years.
After formal drama education Kate toured with several theatre companies following which she was the lead entertainer with her own Cabaret at a large holiday park.
After her first child was born, Kate found that mixing touring with family life became increasingly tricky and she seized the opportunity to create Shooting Star Entertainments. Initially focusing on touring pantomimes for schools in the South East, Kate could combine her love of entertaining through a family-friendly theatre company!
Kate is involved with every aspect of the company. She loves working with a great team of professional actors and is very proud that she is able to spread the love of theatre to children.
